Alleyn's School Lower School

Tim Ronalds Architects have been working with Alleyn’s since 2012 on development plans and building designs for the School. A new Science building was completed at the end of 2015 and construction of a new Lower School building, accommodating 240 pupils between 11-13 years old, completed in summer 2018. The building is shaped to fit its triangular site with twelve classrooms grouped around a toplit atrium.

Alleyn’s School

Completion: 2018
Location: London

With a curved form shaped to fit its triangular site, the new Lower School building is a landmark for the school. Its twelve classrooms are grouped around a top-lit atrium, and the feel of the building inside and out reflects Alleyn’s nurturing ethos.

It is abundantly apparent that the architect has given careful consideration to the needs of the
children and their teachers. The building provides a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment for them to learn, socialise and grow, setting a fantastic precedent for future school projects.
